Exploring the area by car is rewarding. Much can be seen from the highways, but the back roads also provide many visual treats. Mountain scenery is complemented by the lakes and streams running through the Columbia River Valley. Fort Steele Historic Park is a major attraction. History buffs will enjoy community museums. The Columbia River Wetlands Wildlife Habitat will also appeal to nature lovers.
When visiting Fairmont’s Mountainside Villas the recreation possibilities begin at your doorstep. The area is ideal for those who like to explore independently, and information is readily available at the resort’s recreation centre. Likewise, our staff would be pleased to share their local knowledge with you.
